Fenerbahce centre-back, Attila Szalai’s move to Chelsea is ‘done’.
This claim was made by Hungary coach, Marco Rossi.
Rossi spoke to Calciomercato after an event at Circolo della Stampa in Turin.
According to him, Szalai, who could be suitable for Serie A, is on the verge of joining Chelsea next year.
“It’s hard to name just one player but right now I see very well Attila Szalai, who plays for Fenerbache, but I think he is joining Chelsea,” Rossi said as quoted by Football Italia.
“Clearly, he has been followed by important clubs in Spain, but apparently, his move to Chelsea is a done deal. He would be a great player also for Italian football.”
Szalai, 23, plays as a centre-back for Fenerbache.
The Hungarian international joined the Turkish club from Apollon Limassol FC this year.
Meanwhile, Chelsea is yet to agree on a deal to extend centre-back Antonio Rudiger’s contract at Stamford.
Szalai could be a backup plan should Rudiger eventually leave Chelsea at the end of the season.
